Serious stuff, motorcycling...
Indeed, we have sometimes been accused of taking it too seriously. But how can that be when we take so much pleasure from it?
Unfortunately though more and more motorcyclists are having more and more crashes – the real statistics are horrendous! Safe riders, however, are taking more and more training and are always interested in improving their skills.
No-one knows it all; the perfect ride has yet to be ridden…
So ask yourself some questions... - Why do I ride a motorcycle?
-
Am I really a competent, safe rider? Could I be safer?
-
Do I have a weakness which could let me down?
- Does leaning the bike make me nervous?
- Can I cope with emergencies on the road?
- Do I ride with the right mental attitude?
-
Do I want to get more fun, more satisfaction from my riding?
- Do I seriously want to be a safer, smoother, more aware motorcyclist?
OK. Assuming that your answers to questions 7 & 8 are ‘YES’, where do we go from here?
If you’ve read our home page you will realise that we’re not your regular type of advanced training company. We aren’t going to offer you a two-day course covering hundreds of miles - although you will need to be doing a reasonable mileage to reach any kind of standard. A thousand miles a year is not a sound basis to work from! Improving any skill depends on regular training and practice; and that practice is best done between training sessions - not at them!
Video Assessment - amazing results... here’s the deal...
- Get a copy of Motorcycle Roadcraft (The Police Rider’s Handbook); and The Highway Code;
ISBN 0 11 341143 X and ISBN 0 11 551977 7 will identify them at any bookshop or HMSO. -
Read them both, carefully. Well you did say you were serious, didn’t you?
-
Get in touch with me, Martin Hopp and we’ll arrange a half day assessment.
Your assessment will cost a total of £95.00; we will video your assessed ride (if you feel comfortable with that) and use the footage for analysis. Between us we will identify areas for improvement and we will make recommendations on how to do that. You may then want to continue with another half day session that day, or book future sessions - or not - it's entirely up to you. |
